Project ADHD: Spend Less Time Setting Up, More Time Building
You know the feeling: you find a bug or a feature you’d like to contribute, clone the repository, and then spend your energy figuring out how to get everything running. Before you can work on the thing that interested you, you’re wrestling with environment setup. That friction can stop you before you even start.
I built project-adhd to make that first step easier. It lets you attach a ready-to-use Dev Container to an existing GitHub repository, or create a new private repository with adhd new. You choose which tools to install for each project: Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, and oh-my-pi.
Get to the work sooner
Once a repository is set up with project-adhd, its selected tools are available in that project’s Dev Container. Logins are shared across attached repositories by default, so you don’t have to authenticate again in each one.
It’s already made a difference for me. In one week, I made two spontaneous contributions to software I use every day, fixing bugs and adding features I was missing. That’s exactly the kind of momentum I wanted this project to make easier.
If setup friction has ever kept you from contributing, take a look at project-adhd on GitHub.
